Doug McHenry began his career as a producer with the groundbreaking "Krush Groove", the first
"hip-hop" hit for Warner Brothers. He then followed with "New Jack City" and "House Party 2 & 3", before making his directorial debut with the critically and commercially acclaimed "Jason's Lyric". McHenry has produced or directed over a dozen feature films focused on the urban niche. Most recently, McHenry developed the screenplay for "This Christmas" which has grossed $49.2 Million to date.

Doug McHenry is recognized as one of the most successful producer/directors in the urban genre and has worked with many leading African American stars including, Queen Latifah, Wesley Snipes, Martin Lawrence, Cedric The Entertainer, Whoopie Goldberg, Loretta Devine, Ice T, Eddie Griffin, Blair Underwood, Vivica A.
